Chamarajanagar District Co-operative Milk Producer’s Societies Union LTD.

Chamarajanagar is the southernmost district in the state of Karnataka. It was carved out of the original larger Mysore District in the year 1998. The total extent of Chamarajanagar District is 5686 Sq. Kms consists of 4 Talukas namely Chamarajanagar, Gundlupet, Kollegal and Yelandur and 16 Hobli's, 446 Inhabited Villages, 61 Uninhabited Villages, 461 Revenue Villages.

It borders the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Most of the district lies in the leeward region of the Nilgiris and consists of mainly semi-arid rain-dependent flat lands along with forested hills. It is the third least populous district in Karnataka (out of 30), after Kodagu and Bengaluru Rural.

There are 469 functional DCS .It has chilling centres at Chamarajanagar-60 TLPD and Kollegala-40 TLPD.Total chilling capacity 100 TLPD. Also there are 100 Bulk Milk Coolers, 362 Automatic Milk Collection Units in the union.

The union procures on an Average 2.63 lakh kg/day,sells 0.30 litres/day of  milk and 0.06  litres/day of curd

Excellence: All DCS in the district are covered under the “Cluster Artificial Insemination (AI) Centres” .
