Coffee,Potatoes,Oranges,Honey,Cardomom,Butter & Pepper used to be the talk of the districts covered by the union in this historical fame of Shravanabelagola, Belur, Halebid along with iron ore in Kudremukh.

Today 78% of the 18 taluks are covered under more than 1506 functioning DCSs.

Hassan Dairy with an initial capacity of 60 TLPD was expanded to 120 TLPD during 1996 and further to 380 TLPD recently. It has another dairy of 50 TLPD at Kudige.

It has chilling centres at Holenarsipura-100  TLPD, Birur-80 TLPD, Channarayapatna -100 TLPD and Arasikere-100 TLPD. Total chilling 380 TLPD. There are 37 Bulk Milk Coolers and 403 Automatic Milk Collection units in the union.

The union procures on an Average 9.96  lac kg/day of milk,sales 1.88 lac litres/per day and 0.42  litres/day of curd.The Union also produces Butter, Ghee, SMP & Cream.
