The origin of Keladi dynasty, a junction of forest & drought areas covers 3 Districts - Shivamogga, Davanagere and Chitradurga. Here in the vicinity of the famous Jog Falls is situated, more than 1185 functioning DCSs in 19 taluks.

Shivamogga Dairy was established during 1991 to enable processing 150000 ltrs of milk per day. The Davanagere Dairy has a processing capacity of 60 TLPD.

It has chilling centers at Honnali-60 TLPD, Tadagani-80 TLPD, Anandapura-30 TLPD, Chitradurga-50 TLPD, Hosadurga-20 TLPD, B.G.Kere-05 TLPD,Challakere-10 TLPD .Total chilling capacity 255 TLPD. There is 104 Bulk Milk Coolers , 659 Automatic Milk Collection Units in the union.

The union procures on an Average 5.86 lakh kg/day of milk,sells 2.12 lakh litres/per day and 0.27  litres/day of curd.The Union also produces Butter, Ghee, SMP, Paneer, Khova, Peda & Mysore Pak.
