Tiny in size but huge in Sugar & Paddy Production now turned into land of milk. An offshoot of Mysuru & Tumakuru unions, it covers 7 taluks & more than 1239 DCSs functioning. The product dairy with 1 LLPD at Gejjalagere has been expanded in phases and has now 4.25 LLPD capacity.

Union owns a 18 MT/day powder plant taking care of surplus of Mandya and neighbouring Hassan and Mysuru unions. Also possess an export marketing license to market SMP.

It has chilling centres at Krishnarajpet -100 TLPD, Nagamangala-60 TLPD.Total chilling capacity 160 TLPD. There are 193 Bulk Milk Coolers, 648 Automatic Milk Collection Units in the union.

The union procures on an Average 8.40 lakh kg/day of milk,sells 2.66 lakh litres/per day and 0.39  litres/day of curd.The Union also produces Butter, Ghee, SMP, Burfi, Paneer and Peda.

Excellence: Union with highest milk procurement from a single compact district; Leading in BMCs sanctioned under NDP for any Union in the country; Excellent Skim Milk Powder packed in 50 gm in metalised polyster packs, 200 and 500 gm cartons, first union to export powder and to adopt rationalised price structure.
