Shimoga District Milk Producers' Societies' Union Limited

The Union was established in the year 1963 as a Government Milk Supply Scheme. A new Dairy has been established with a capacity of 1.0 Lakh Litres per day under the Operation Flood II & III with NDDB assistance.

 
The Union has five Chilling Centres located at Honnali, Anandpur, Hosadurga, Tadagani and Chitradurga with chilling capacity of 1.30 Lakh Litres Per Day.

The Union has a Dairy at Shimoga and a mini dairy at Davangere, processing, packing and selling 25,000 litres per day.

The Union procures on an average 1.78 Lakh Kgs. of milk per day and sells 0.99 Lakh litres every day.  There are  9 Bulk Milk Coolers & 62 Automatic Milk Collection Units in the Union.

The Union, apart from selling toned milk, also produces Butter, Ghee, Peda, Butter Milk and Curds.
